The Associate Actuary completes the most diverse and complicated projects and performs highly complex actuarial studies. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs key actuarial functions including new product pricing, evaluation of the impact of new legislation, flexible benefit consulting, and special projects.

  • Manage all aspects of the Medical Economics quantification process as it relates to forecasting, monitoring, and reporting.

  • Value and track proposed and ongoing medical management and contracting initiatives for management for Puerto Rico Medicare Advantage and Medicaid business

  • Interact with Medical Management, Analytics, and Informatics departments

  • Analyze large data sets identifying opportunities, trends, and various drivers of trends

  • Analyze key managed care indicators and compare to benchmarking data, and/or past performance

Qualifications

  • Requires a BA/BS degree and minimum of 4 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • ASA required from the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
