The Associate Actuary completes the most diverse and complicated projects and performs highly complex actuarial studies. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Performs key actuarial functions including new product pricing, evaluation of the impact of new legislation, flexible benefit consulting, and special projects.
Designs and completes special projects such as developing and maintaining experience-rating formulae and creating and/or reviewing alternative settlement formulate and risk sharing models.
Responsible for recommendations on trend impacts, rate adequacy, pricing, marketing, product changes, claims, premium and enrollment of Medicaid markets.
Responsible for valuation support for business unit by interpreting financial results, variances from forecast to help identify product and segment behavior to assist in the risk management of the business unit.
The Actuarial Analyst III completes very diverse and complicated projects and performs very complex actuarial studies. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
Analyzes and implements risk contracts including conducting experience analyses, pricing, filing and settlement work; and prepares management reports supporting new capitation initiatives.
Assists in training of actuarial trainees, analysts and specialists.
Coordinates/directs special actuarial projects.
Performs complex Actuarial Model Building tasks, specifically building models to normalize and project trend for Medicaid markets.
Minimum Requirements Associate Actuary
Requires a BA/BS degree and minimum of 4 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
ASA required from the Society of Actuaries (SOA).
Minimum Requirements Actuarial Analyst III
Requires a BA/BS and to have passed a minimum of four Society of Actuaries (SOA) actuarial exams and a minimum of 3 years related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Associate Actuary Annual Salary Range*: 97,600 - $122,000
Actuarial Analyst III Annual Salary Range*: $78,000 - $98,500
Actual compensation may vary from posting based on geographic location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
