The Financial Consultant is responsible for viewing and preparing interpretation of historical financial data, financial projections, and results. Performs consulting services to support business development studies, economic evaluation, and planning functions. Works in coordination with the Beacon Risk Office lead on the creation of DBG BH / Beacon Health Options reporting; including performing healthcare utilization and financial analysis and other reporting on Beacon clients. Includes monthly report preparation and analysis of financial and utilization reports, and preparation of weekly reporting. Coordinates across functional areas to ‘tell the story’ and provides input to be able to drive actions and Cost of Care (CoC) initiatives.

How you will make an impact: • Identifies complex financial problems or issues, researches solutions, and implements corrective steps to achieve higher level of efficiency. • Advises management of various financial models and recommendations. • Prepares complex presentations. • Prepares financial planning, financial section of annual and quarterly reports to stakeholders, and budget reports and forecasts. • Is used as a resource by staff or outside departments. • Compiles and prepares standard and ADHOC healthcare utilization and financial reports. • Assist Manager in preparing and presenting, but not limited to, the following reports: o Monthly reports to external / internal stakeholders o Benchmarks o Actuals to benchmarks analysis o Market deep dives o Assist in the creation of the monthly MFR and outlook • Research and analyze utilization management reports to identify trends and initiatives to impact the CoC and prepare and present those to leadership • Assist with the updating the outlook monthly • Assist with the annual budget and 6+6 preparation • Assist with developing and implementing CoC savings targets and monitor against those targets in coordination with the Director of CoC • Ability to coordinate across functional areas (Network Management, Clinical (UM), Finance, Actuarial, and other)


Minimum Requirements: • Requires a BA/BS in accounting or finance and a minimum of 3 years experience in general accounting, finance, or budget and planning; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences: • MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred • Experience in FPA (Financial Planning & Analysis) preferred • Ability to pull and analyze large sets of data preferred • Analytical skills preferred • Healthcare analytics preferred • Ability to operate and communicate cross departmentally as well as with upper management • SQL Experience preferred
